Green Alert: Growing Pains & Network Maintenance
We're growing... and so is our network.
Greetings Valued LiveAir Clients;
I am humbled to finally be able to write this type of e-mail to you. Over the last 3 years LiveAir Networks has been growing our network from a small community and school-centered project into a full-scale regional converged Internet access platform. Our business has grown as well, and we are currently projecting being fully profitable this year!
If you haven't already heard, we are in the middle of a 50 thousand dollar network expansion project which will triple our service area size by the beginning of Summer 2008. We will soon have service available inside of 3 counties: Bastrop, Fayette, and Lee, encompassing the communities and cities of Smithville, Pin Oak, Upton, Alum Creek, Kirtley, Winchester, Northrup, Serbin, and Giddings!
We have reached the point in construction where we must begin to retrofit network upgrades into our existing infrastructure in the Smithville area. These upgrades will increase the redundancy and resiliency of our network infrastructure as we strive to maintain a 100% uptime for all network services including Internet Access. (This upgrade will even minimize the impact of Lightning on operations, should it occur in the future!) Also, we are upgrading several of our infrastructure services to include more reliable Spam and virus filters, network access & resolution, and many other new features!
Over the next 9 to 12 weeks, you will receive a series of emails as we embark on these upgrades. Most of these e-mails will be informational only, but a few may require your response. We will first be upgrading network elements in our backbone which will require periods of network downtime spanning a few hours each. We are going to try to conduct these upgrades on weekends and evenings as much as possible to minimize impact to user operations. Client IP Addresses will also be changing; more information about this transition will be published in the coming weeks. We will send out maintenance notifications via E-Mail to affected clients at least 3 business days prior to maintenance periods occuring.
As always, we value our relationships with our clients. Please do not hesitate to let us know if you have any questions. You may call our main number at 512-360-4273; or email us at clientcare at liveair dot net.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we grow to better serve our rural communities.
