SMITHVILLE and HOUSTON, Texas – February 13, 2015 – LiveAir Networks and Wireless Metro, LLC today announced that they have completed a definitive agreement where Wireless Metro will immediately become part of LiveAir Networks.
The combination leverages the highly complementary strengths of the two companies to create a much stronger, more nimble, client service oriented competitor which is much better positioned to continue to meet consumer and business’ continually increasing demands throughout the Houston Metro area.
Areas previously serviced by Wireless Metro will be integrated into the LiveAir TexasBone and Rural Area Networks to provide enhanced backbone connectivity and improved customer connectivity to the Internet. LiveAir’s renowned Enterprise and Wholesale services will be made available throughout Wireless Metro’s territory to better service business, government, and educational entities throughout the area. LiveAir also plans to bring additional fiber-based services to the existing Houston market serviced by Wireless Metro.
“We are excited to welcome Wireless Metro and their clients to the LiveAir family,” said James W. Breeden, Founder and CEO of LiveAir Networks. “We are excited to bring LiveAir’s traditionally rural model into the city and service our client’s demands in or out of the city.”
With this transaction, LiveAir Networks becomes the largest privately-held fiber and fixed wireless ISP in the growing Austin-Houston corridor with over 10,500 square miles of coverage, over 660 miles of fiber optics, 70 operated wireless towers, over 1,900 network connections, and over 56,000 daily average network users.
“This combination will give customers the ability to have an integrated fiber optic and wireless solution, allowing for non-stop internet connectivity”, said Andy Prokop, Founder and Partner at Wireless Metro. Prokop will join LiveAir’s Board of Directors as part of the transaction.
LiveAir immediately assumes control of Wireless Metro and continues to conduct business as normal while accounting and operation integration activities begin immediately, with complete integration expected to complete in March 2015.
